7.       WHAT CEPTA MEANS WHEN IT SAYS:

“the carefully planted ‘moles’ and covert psycho-pharmaceutical supporters in our national bureaucracies, in our government offices and departments and amongst the quietly and steadily lobbied and misled politicians”.

There is no way possible whereby the psychiatric and pharmaceutical industries could have achieved their controlling position in the drug education and addiction treatment fields by virtue of any success in handling these fields, because their record is one of ever escalating failure.  Nor have they achieved their domination by accident.

It is political manipulation, overt and covert lobbying, P.R. operations of amazingly smooth and broad fronted skills and the control of numerous front organisations which has captured their monopolistic position and which continues to maintain it.

Typical of their manipulation of government is the psycho-pharmacological control of the ACMD, a powerful statutory independent non-departmental public body formed to advise the Home Office on the misuse of drugs.

Also typical is their pretence at so-called ‘self-regulation’ regularly used to pull the wool over the eyes of government, other politicians and Civil Servants.  NTORS, for example was a five year long beautiful example of psychiatrists and pharmacologists purporting to examine the work of other psychiatrists and pharmacologists with the professed intention of finding out exactly what was and what was not working to improve the then current treatment of addicts.

It took five long years only because that gave failing psycho-pharmaceutical treatments based on so-called ‘harm reduction’ and ‘methadone maintenance habit management’ a further five years to clean up their act and to start producing significant and worthwhile results.  Also fanfared and expected was a brave new world of improving statistics showing that the number of long-term drug users was plunging and that the number of new users was also falling.

But did we hear any big media hoo-ha about the psycho-pharms’ wonderful achievements in this regard?  Where there any government announcements about implementing promised reforms?  Were Keith Hellawell’s views listened to?

Far from it.  What we got was a good old fashioned whitewash.  A cover-up of failures intended only to prop-up and promote the failing psycho-pharm status quo.

PR, propaganda and lobbyist results like this are made possible only by virtue of the psycho-pharms having allied, cultivated, developed and even planted their own fifth-column of long established ‘friends’ within the establishment.

So here we have only the tip of the psycho-pharms’ manipulative ice-berg.
